Travis Michael, Broker & Analyst

Travis understands firsthand the challenges cattle producers and traders have with commodity brokers or market analysts.  Travis has extensive ranching, cattle feeding, data analysis and trading experience.  He managed feeder cattle procurement, fed cattle marketing and cattle risk management.  Travis assisted with the management of a large feed-yard near Dalhart, Texas under JBS-Five Rivers Cattle Feeding and was quickly promoted to cattle procurement business analyst for JBS-Swift.  While working with JBS, he was promoted again to head of cattle trading where he was responsible for all the futures and options trades related to the North American beef business.  Part of his role as cattle trader included risk management of fed cattle contracts, basis strategies, futures spread strategies, options pricing and fundamental analysis.

Caleb Hurst, Broker & Beef Market Analyst

Caleb grew up in south-central Kansas, where he developed a passion for agriculture through raising and exhibiting cattle and sheep in 4-H. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from Kansas State University before joining Spring Cove Ranch, a leading Angus seedstock operation in Idaho, where he managed herd health, calving, and bull development programs.

He later earned a graduate degree in Animal Science from Colorado State University and joined S&P Global, where he led beef and cattle market research within the Commodity Insights and Energy divisions. Combining hands-on production experience with market expertise, Caleb provides data-driven analysis and strategic insights that help cattle industry stakeholders make informed decisions, manage risk, and improve profitability across the supply chain.

Rimini Hickey, Director of Marketing & Sales

Rimini is a native of Colorado with a degree in Public Relations and Marketing from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Her extensive background includes special event planning, product sales, client consulting, branding and marketing for businesses. She is dedicated to making sure Cattlenomics is a leader in customer service, and equipped with an effective website, social media strategy, and a vast digital marketing presence.  She is a driving force behind Cattlenomics becoming a trusted name for data and information in the volatile cattle business.

Caitlyn Alderson, Feeder Cattle Market Analyst

Caitlyn grew up in Central Texas surrounded by agriculture, where her passion for the cattle industry was developed through livestock judging and hands-on experience. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University (WHOOP!), building a strong foundation in agricultural markets. She later completed her Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University, focusing her research on fed cattle basis risk under grid pricing and the role of carcass quality in market returns. By combining practical cattle knowledge with data-driven market analysis, Caitlyn is committed to helping producers and industry partners make informed decisions that enhance profitability and manage risk.

Nita Brown, Executive Assistant & Office Support

Nita grew up in southeastern New Mexico but has called Northern Colorado home for the past thirty years. She brings to Cattlenomics a strong background in customer service and administration, with years of experience in prior administrative roles. In her position, Nita is dedicated to providing outstanding support to our clients while keeping office operations running smoothly.

Outside of work, Nita and her husband enjoy time with their four children and two grandchildren. She is also active in her community, volunteering with a local Loveland youth baseball program.

Kyle Schnell, Technical Architect

Kyle grew up on a cow/calf ranch operation in the southwest of the Nebraska panhandle and now resides in Colorado.  Kyle still supports the GO BIG RED and will always be a CORNHUSKER fan!!  He branched away from the ranch life to attend Minnesota State University-Moorhead, and earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems. He has vast experience in the design and implementation of business software systems for retail and supply chain companies. He is excited to be working with Cattlenomics to apply his technical skills and to tie him back to his roots in the cattle industry.
